All Kalmar LMV's trucks are designed for maximum safetly in accordance with the stringent ISO 1074 stability standards.
The chassis is made up of two longitudinal flanged profiles with a minimum of welds. A high degree of torsional rigidity and the minimum of stress concentrations has been calculated using the finite element method (FEM).

In order to ensure excellent close-range visibility the chassis has low sides, and the rear counterweight has a low centre of gravity. A new method of attaching the high mounted tilt cylinders also improves forward visibility.

The Kalmar masts are designed to be as slender as possible without compromising on structural strength. Duplex and triplex versions, with or without free-lift are available. Each truck can have its own tailor-made mast.

The drive axle is designed to a very high specification for operating reliability. Two-state gearing to reduce stress in the transmission takes place in the differntial and the hubs.
Simple yet refined hydraulics are designed round multi function valve blocks and wing pumps. Working hydraulics, steering, driving and parking brakes are all included on the system.
